Ex APC National Vice Chairman knocks oppositions as disappointing, seeks Tinubu’s defeat

Salihu Lukman, the former National Vice Chairman (Northwest) of the Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed strong frustration with the opposition’s current strategy.

Speaking during a live broadcast in the morning of Friday, July 31, 2026, Lukman stated that while he strongly wants to see President Bola Tinubu and the ruling APC defeated in the 2027 general elections, the fragmented approach of current opposition leaders is highly disappointing.

Lukman warned that opposition parties are on track to repeat the exact same errors from the 2023 polls.

He noted that expecting a different outcome without changing their structural approach is wishful thinking.

He warned against placing personal ambitions over national destiny, while calling out top opposition political heavyweights including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso for allowing personal egos and individual presidential ambitions to splinter the coalition.
