Nigerian Author and Influencer, Reno Omokri has criticised the recent arrest of CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele stating that It is a vindictive act intentionally to punish Mr Emefiele for the ‘patriotic Naira redesign policy’
Reacting to the arrest on his twitter handle, Reno calls on the president to reconsider his actions as the arrest, according to him, is tantamount to an act of vengeance against the naira redesign policy aimed at , among other things, reducing vote buying or incentive-induced voting during the 2023 elections.
In another tweet he challenged the logic behind the allegations levelled against the governor. he said “Why would Emefiele sponsor terrorism? It makes no sense. Before Nigerians buy these allegations, might I remind them that Bukola Saraki, a then sitting Senate President, was also falsely charged with sponsoring armed robbery. Please make no mistake, this is payback time to punish Emefiele for his Naira redesign policy, which he introduced to reduce vote buying and clean up Nigeria’s elections.
While Emefiele has been taken into custody by the DSS, following his suspension and arrest, Nigerians await further updates concerning the developing story.
