DIG Joseph Egbunike has slumped and died in Abuja.

The deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), Joseph Egbunike, has died.

At the late hours of Tuesday, Egbunike, a native of Onitsha, Anambra State, reportedly slumped and died in his Abuja office.

Until his death, Egbunike was the head of the Special Investigation Panel (SIP), which was set up by Usman Baba, the Inspector General of Police, to look into Abba Kyari, the suspended head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), over money laundering allegations involving fraudster Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi.
