COVID-19: NCDC Confirms 135 New Infected Cases, Total Cases Now 163,330

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 135 new cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, gathering the total number of infections in the country to 163,330.

The NCDC revealed this on its official Twitter handle in a late hour tweet on Monday.

Following reports from NCDC, no COVID-19-related death was disclosed, while the country’s death toll remained at 2,058 as of March 5, 2021.

It states that the 135 new infections were reported from 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The NCDC reported that kwara state recorded the largest number of infected cases, followed by Lagos state.

“Kwara-37, Lagos-32, Ondo-23,Nasarawa-13, FCT-nine, Kaduna-seven, Rivers-six, Osun-three, Delta-two, Edo-two,Borno-one,” it stated.

Following reports from the agency, 152,045 people have been discharged from various isolation centres across the country since the onset of the pandemic.

The public health agency said that cases discharged as of Monday 18 community recoveries in Kaduna State, Data from Kaduna State recorded over the last two days managed in line with guidelines.

It said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities nationwide.

Nigeria’s public health institute disclosed that there were now 9,139 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours.

The NCDC disclosed that it has tested 1,803,177 people since the firstly known and called informed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was disclosed on Feb. 27, 2020.
