British Doctor Recommends Yoghurt, Beans and Bananas to Fight Off Coronavirus

A Doctor in a British television show, Dr. Chris, has recommended Yoghurts, Beans and Bananas, as the three types of foods that can be used to fight off the coronavirus. 

According to him, we can boost our immune system by eating these classes of foods.

He also advised the public to get as much Vitamin D as possible in order to stand a chance of fighting COVID-19, adding that It helps get our  body in the best condition.

The doctor appeared via a video link chatted to the hosts about immune systems, explaining that 70% of it is in the guts.

“Your immune system protects you against viruses and bacteria,” he said.

“I advise you to increase the population of friendly bacteria by eating yoghurt, Greek-style yoghurt.

“If you look at the label on the yoghurt you might see some long names, these are the names of the bacteria that are in there.”

According to him: “Increase the population of the friendly bacteria, you then should feed them by taking pro biotics which are founds in foods like beans.”

He said these foods are good, simple, cheap ways of boosting the food to your army of friendly bacteria.

He also recommended getting Vitamin D which we get from sunshine.

“Look for Vitamin D3 on the label,” he added.

According to American Chemical Society,  Beans contain a wide range of cancer-fighting plant chemicals, specifically, isoflavones and phytosterols.

It also provides the body with soluble fibre in controlling blood cholesterol levels.

Greek yogurt contains probiotics. These are micro organisms such as bacteria and yeast.

Bananas are one of the most popular fruits worldwide. They contain essential nutrients that can have a protective impact on health.

Eating bananas can help lower blood pressure and may reduce the risk of cancer.

A 2007 study suggested that eating bananas might help prevent wheezing in children with asthma. One reason for this could be the antioxidant and potassium content of bananas. However, more research is needed to confirm these findings.
