Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, former military head of state, populary known as IBB, has expressed fear over the monetisation of the electoral process in the forthcoming convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement released by Kassim Afegbua, his media adviser, IBB warned against a situation where the position of National Chairman could be ‘procured by the highest bidder.’

He said the electoral process must be bereft of manipulation, inducement, selfish and egocentric interest as he warned the party against repeating the mistakes of the past.

He declared that the party needs a National Chairman who is driven by uncommon initiatives, creativity in ideas and a rich content of character to lead and stabilise the party in line with the laudable ideals of the founding fathers of the party.
