An Ibadan based Bee Keeper and Chief Executive, Dominion Bees Honey Farms, Mr. Gideon Olufemi Olapoju has said that honeybees should be praised for their impact on food production, resulting in human well-being and survival.

He said this during an interview with FirstNigeriaTV’s Ojomo Mayowa during this year’s World Bee Day celebrations.

According to him, bees are a special creation of Almighty God charged with the responsibility of ensuring the successful production of food for the survival of Man by playing the intermediary and important role of pollination in the process of food production.

“Bees are vital to global food production, facilitating the reproduction of over 75% of the world’s leading food crops. By transferring pollen between flowers, they directly increase crop yields and improve the quality of fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Without them, agricultural output and dietary diversity would drop significantly”, he said.

“Let us protect bees, preserve nature, and support sustainable agriculture”, he added.
