The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu has supported President Muhammadu Buhari’s order to security agents to shoot anyone with AK-47 rifles in the country.

Elumelu disclosed this on Thursday in an interview with newsmen ,he reported that the president is supposed to give the directives directly instead of communicating via his media attachè.

“The statement accredited to the media attachè to Mr President is a welcome development but I would have prefered that Mr President himself made that broadcast,” the lawmaker who represents Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency confirmed.

The Delta-born lawmaker disclosed that Buhari, in his broadcast, would have stood against criminal activities by some herders and believes that would have sent a strong message to those bent on prolonging crime across the country.

“I would like him to outrightly fight the activities of the herdsmen,” Elumelu said. “They are everywhere messing up all the communities, invading people.”
