Governor Ademola Adeleke, popularly known as the “Dancing Governor,” has won the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The election was held on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Adeleke, who contested under the platform of the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.
Adeleke was declared the winner in the early hours of Sunday after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) completed the collation of results from the 30 local government areas in the state.
The governor secured a total of 511,067 votes, defeating Oyebamiji by a margin of 66,252 votes. His victory means that Adeleke will continue as the Governor of Osun State for another term.
The result has attracted reactions from political leaders and supporters across the country, with several individuals congratulating the governor on his victory.
