Adamu Ciroma dies at 83

A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and founding member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, Mallam Adamu Ciroma, is dead.
Mallam Ciroma died on Thursday afternoon at a Turkish hospital at aged eighty-three (83).
Born November 20, 1934, late Ciroma also served as Minister of Finance in the government of President Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2003.
He was briefly the secretary of the defunct National Party of Nigeria, (NPN) and he later served at various times as Minister for Industries, Agriculture and Finance.
Ciroma of late kept out of the public eye despite the active participation of his wife, Hayiya Maryam Ciroma in the affairs of the PDP
