Teacher, 30 Students Of FGC, Freed by Bandits

A teacher and thirty more students (30) of the Federal Government College (FGC) Birnin Yauri have been released by their captors.

Special Adviser to Kebbi state Governor on Media, Mallam Yahyah Sarki, confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday.

According to the statement, “Today, Saturday 8th January 2022, 30 students of Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri and one teacher have arrived at Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State capital, following their release. They shall undergo medical screening and support while being reunited with their families.

“It will be recalled that on Thursday 21 October 2021, 30 students of the same school were released and brought to Birnin Kebbi to be reunited with their families. This is in addition to some who were earlier released to their parents. We thank all security agencies and those who have helped in securing the release while congratulating Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari for the success.”

Gov. Umahi Execute Minor Reshuffles Cabinet

Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi has made a minor cabinet reshuffle.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Ugbala Kenneth Igwe, said the development is part of efforts to enhance efficiency and effective service delivery in the State.

The statement reads: “In the effort of Ebonyi State government to enhance efficiency and effective service delivery in the discharge of its statutory functions, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle.

The reshuffling is with immediate effect as all handover and taking over must be completed before noon on Monday, 10th January, 2022. All the affected Commissioners and the SAs are to take note and ensure strict compliance to this directive.”

CCTV reveals how OAU post graduate student Timothy was killed

Closed Circuit Television has revealed how Obafemi Awolowo University post-graduate student, Timothy Adegoke was killed in his hotel room.

This was revealed by founder of an Ibadan, Oyo State-based radio station, Agidigbo FM, Oriyomi Hamzat, in a video posted on his Instagram page on Friday.

Oludare had lodged at Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Ile-Ife when he came to write his examinations in OAU late last year before he was murdered by the owner, Rahmon Adedoyin, his son, and staff of the facility.

Hamzat, who is also a human rights activist, said on Friday that the police had given him authorisation to reveal the content of the CCTV that showed how Oludare was killed. He revealed that there will soon be a court case on the matter.

JusticeforSynvester: Lagos police Issues warning against any further protests


The Police in Lagos State have warned the general public against engaging in any further protests after the autopsy report on the cause of Sylvester Oromoni’s death has been released.

FirstNigeriaTv reports Oromoni was a student of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, who died after he was allegedly bullied by his fellow students in school.

However, autopsy reports on the deceased recently released and interpreted, absolved Dowen College, staff and students of complicity in the death of the budding young boy.

While speaking with journalists, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu stated that he would not tolerate protests over the outcome of investigations on the death of Oromoni. Odumosu urged members of the public that are not satisfied with the outcome to seek redress in court. He revealed that there will soon be a court case on the matter.

Augoye wins Distinguished Service Honorary Award

Former Delta State Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye, a frontline governorship aspirant has been honoured with a Distinguished Service Award.

Augoye, a frontline governorship aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 General Elections was honoured with the award by Jeddo Stakeholders Forum (JSF) at its 2021 Gala and Award Day on Saturday.

Reeling out the profile of Augoye before he was presented his award, JSF extolled the charismatic quality of Augoye, while affirming that the former Commissioner for Works has a reputable public service record in politics.

Reacting, Augoye, represented by his amiable wife, Mary Augoye before he later joined the occasion, thanked executives and members of JSF for finding him worthy to be honoured with the award.
