Ogun State’s major revenue generation axis, Ota Business District may soon be fully disconnected with other adjoining metropolitan areas because of the deplorable state of its roads.
The menace had been noticed since the inception of the 1999 return to democratic ruler ship under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Watchers had believed that the former President whose major personal businesses were located in the axis, would have made attempts to ensure that the problem of accessibility was sustainably solved but alas, throughout his eight-year reign, the roads remained very bad.
The subsequent administrations of Osoba, Daniel and Amosun in Ogun State also failed to find a solution to the everyday pains of commuters on the axis.
A good number of manufacturing industries in the area had been forced to close down because of the menace of disconnectivity that had made their generated revenue dip.
But respite seems to now be in sight with the recent promise made by the incumbent governor of the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun that the roads would be in order by December, this year.
In the above video, a worried road user gives an account of happenings on the roads.
