DSS Confirms Attack on Sunday Igboho’s House in Ibadan; Alleges Stockpiling of Arms

Department of State Services, has confirmed that it operatives carried out the attack on the residence of Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

This was disclosed in a statement by the agency’s spokesperson, Dr Peter Afunanya, on Thursday.

Dr. Afunanya said the raid was based on intelligence that Igboho was stockpiling arms to cause unrest. 

He further revealed that two of Igboho’s men who attacked the security operatives were killed while an operative sustained injuries.

Afunanya also said Igboho escaped during the gun battle.

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) candidates have complained of the instability of JAMB results this year.

A section of the examination candidates in Asaba told Emerald News that irrespective of the electronic way the exam was conducted as well as the marking, there are still irregularities in the scores.

One of the candidates, Master Joshua Nda said that he scored 201 the first time he checked his result in the internet, by the time he checked the second time to print the result, he saw 193 as his score.

Also, Miss Princess  Meche told this meduim that her father used his phone to check her result adding that by the time she went to a cyber cafe to print the result, she scored 180 as against 218 she earlier saw through her father’s phone.

No Going Back On Yoruba Nation Rally in Lagos, Igboho Insists

Despite the Department of State Security (DSS) raid on residence of Yoruba Nation Agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, the Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos will go on as planned, The Nation has learnt.

But Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu warned Igboho and other agitators not to stage any rally in Lagos.

He stated that anyone caught participating or facilitating the rally would be dealt with within according to the law.

In a live broadcast monitored by The Nation on Frday morning, Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, explained that the rally will go as planned at Ojota, adding that Igboho will be back stronger.

He said: “I can still confirm officially that the Lagos rally in as much as whatever news or rumours you’ve been listening to from different outlets, will go as planned

Police Dispel Report Of Armed Fulani Invasion Of Osun Community, Warn Rumour-mongers

The Osun State Police Command has dispelled reports that armed Fulani bandits had stormed Ofatedo area of Osogbo, Osun State capital.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Olawale Olokode, said it is important to allay the fear that engulfed residents of the town when the news made the rounds on Friday.

Olokode, in a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, Mrs Yemisi Opalola, and made available on Friday, explained that the report was concocted by purveyors of fake news, and should be disregarded by residents of the town.
