The Yoruba Speaking tribe of Nigeria has been accepted as the 45th member of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO), Hague, Netherland.
Leader of the Yoruba World Congress, Prof. Banji Akintoye says that the membership represents a very important step in the collective quest of well meaning Yoruba people to achieve the goal of dignity and self-determination.
According to him, Yoruba nation now has a voice on the international stage via the machinery of the UNPO, which maintains a permanent presence before the UN and other International Agencies.
The Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) is an international membership organization established to facilitate the voices of unrepresented and marginalised nations and peoples worldwide.
