As the driver of the Child Online Safety NG, an advocacy initiative pioneering the entrenchment of cyber security and safety for children in Nigeria, Olamide Oduneye has been working very hard and unrelentingly to ensure that in due course, every Nigerian child possessed cyber security awareness and cover.

Within the past few years, she has embarked on programmes and meetings nationwide to make her dream come to reality, the latest being a programme tagged “Let’s Meet The Parents (A Cyber Security Affair)”, held on 20th July, this year in Lagos.

In her welcome address at the occasion, she emphasised the importance of the avoidance of restriction of children from the use of the internet.

“Whether we like it or not, internet technology has come to stay, forget about restricting children from it, instead expose them to the beneficial side of it, monitor, supervise and converse with them while they use it, while also making yourself a trusted adult they can confide in at delicate times”, she said.
