The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) announced that it recorded a milestone in revenue collection to the tune of N12.3 trillion in 2023.

FIRS Chief Executive, Zacch Adedeji, made this revelation during the FIRS special day at the ongoing 35th Enugu International Trade Fair

Representing Adedeji, Mrs. Aisha Ribadu disclosed the unprecedented progress achieved, attributing it to the organization’s commitment to nurturing and empowering its workforce. She harped on the importance of equipping employees with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools for success.

Expressing gratitude, Adedeji commended the Enugu State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ECCIMA) for selecting the theme “Promoting Made-in-Nigeria Products for Global Competitiveness.” He underscored the theme’s significance, which portrays the collective aspiration to dominate the African market and gain prominence globally.

According to Adedeji, investing in human capital is crucial to foster sustainable development. He stressed that nations who prioritize human development invariably witness enduring growth and prosperity.
