The age long battle against insurgency in Nigeria may have just started yielding results and pass marks for the government of the day with the aggressiveness put into the strife in the past few weeks.
The video above is of the aerial raid for bandits hideouts in Bogo Forest Reserves of Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria which was carried out by the nation’s forces in 2020.
The Katsina State origin of President Muhammadu Buhari had recently been a haven for notorious bandits terrorising innocent populations and concerned Nigerians had wondered the reason for their concentration on the axis.
Some watchers had also claimed that their dastardly acts in the region were aimed at assuring the powers that be that they(bandits) had the liberty to operate anywhere without hindrance.
The recent attack on the nation’s number one military post, the Nigerian Defence Academy, readily comes to mind also as a ‘very daring feat’ by the rampaging hoodlums.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir Elrufai, whose dominion has been heavily perforated by the activities of the bandits, recently came out in a statement that the Federal Government was slowing down the pace at which the northwest governors were aiming at neutralizing the activities of the bandits.
The government at the centre is yet to comment on this very critical claim by Governor ElRufai.
