Majority of Nigerians had been entertaining fears of a possible comeback of the military to governance because of the unperceived disturbances and instability that trailed the #EndSars protest recently embarked upon by the nation’s youth.
There was a total breakdown of law and order especially in Lagos which is the nation’s centre of commerce, to the extent that it seemed the content of the incumbent government was thrown into confusion as the mayhem extended nationwide.
In this video, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai represented by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa makes statements to assure the citizenry that the Nigerian Army was committed to promoting internal law and order, territorial integrity as well as democratic stability and not interested in take-over of governance.
Most heartening is the appreciation by the Chief of Army Staff that democracy stood as the best form of governance.
