U.S. President Donald Trump has said the federal government shutdown was a “gift” from Democrats to mark his first anniversary in the office.

Trump blamed stalemate at the doorstep of Democrats saying it obstruct measures to keep the government running and pushed for more Republicans to be elected to Congress in 2018.

The 45th president of the U.S who was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2017, after defeating arch-rival Democratic Hillary Clinton by Electoral College in the Nov. 8, 2016 poll, but lost the popular votes to her, says  “Democrats are far more concerned with Illegal Immigrants than they are with our great Military or Safety at our dangerous Southern Border.

According to him “They could have easily made a deal but decided to play Shutdown politics instead we need More Republicans In 2018 in order to power through mess!” he added “This is the One Year Anniversary of my Presidency and the Democrats wanted to give me a nice present’’.

Trump disclosed “For those asking, the Republicans only have 51 votes in the Senate, and they need 60. That is why we need to win more Republicans in 2018 Election.

He maintained government shutdown could last some weeks as long as it takes Congressional leaders from both parties to reach an agreement to fund the government.
