The police in Ekiti State have arrested seven suspects over their alleged membership of Black Axe (Aiye) and Eiye secret cults at Aramoko Ekiti in the Ekiti West Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, Sunday Abutu, in a statement in Ado Ekiti, titled, “Ekiti State Command arrests seven suspected cultists,” stated, “Investigation revealed that the two cult groups were fighting for supremacy and have been terrorising innocent citizens and causing nuisance in Aramoko-Ekiti.
“Upon receiving the information, the command operatives raided the scene and arrested seven suspects, namely: Marvelous(24), Kolawole(20), Olajide(25), Jamiu(24), Sunday(18), Idowu(25) and Okeke(24) were arrested while others escaped.
Abutu added that various weapons and insignia of cultism were recovered from them, officers have however been deployed to make sure the rest who fled are apprehended.
