‘Peter Obi Introduced two dangerous things into Nigerian Politics’ – Presidency

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has accused the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of introducing “two dangerous things” into Nigerian politics during the last elections.

Onanuga who made the accusation during an appearance on Mic On with ChannelsTV Seun Okinbaloye, alleged that Obi ignited ethnic and religious sentiments, which he described as dangerous to the political landscape.

According to Onanuga, the current administration under Tinubu is focused on governance and is not concerned with Obi and his followers, known as the Obidients. He said further that the government does not want its attention diverted from its objectives.

“As of now, we are busy with governance and we don’t want our attention diverted from the focus of what the government is trying to do. We are very busy, we’re not even looking at them now” Onanuga stated, stressing that the administration remained committed to its goals despite any distractions.

He went further to say that the LP candidate’s ethnic play in the elections was Obi unprecedented in Nigerian politics, as the use of ethnicity and religion as political tools, are both detrimental to the country’s political environment.
