Ondo High court, sentenced two suspects to jail

An Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, has sentenced two persons, Stella Akinbobola and Adewumi Matthew Opeyemi to seven years and five years imprisonment respectively.

The Police took the convicts to court, on four different count charges which are forceful entry, conspiracy to commit a felony and unlawful invasion of land in Onfo town, but they were charged on forceful entry and conspiracy.

Speaking with newsmen, a former member of the National Assembly. Joseph Akinlaja who supported nominal complaints in the case, said he decided to take up the matter because the two defendants forcibly took over the lands that belong to the people.

Akinlaja, said “the judgement is a clear indication that the judiciary is the hope of the common man.
