The Lagos State Ministry of Education has shut the Redeemers Nursery and Primary School, Ogba, following the death of a five-year-old pupil who reportedly drowned during a swimming lesson.
The state Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, announced this in a statement on Monday, adding that the school will remain closed till the end of an investigation regarding its operations and procedures.
Adefisayo explains further that A preliminary probe by the Office of Education Quality Assurance of the ministry has shown that the Redeemers Nursery and Primary School, Ogba, is yet to conclude its registration and is, therefore, not yet an approved school.
She however states that the police are investigating the matter.
