Kukah Calls on FG to Act Against Bandit Collaborators

Catholic Bishop, Matthew Kukah of Sokoto diocese has urged the federal government to investigate individuals claiming to have connections with bandits

Recently, the government disclosed it uncovered the identities of 15 entities, including nine individuals and six Bureau De Change operators and firms, allegedly linked to terrorism financing.

Speaking on Channels Television, Kukah stressed that the government possesses intelligence on the situation and should interrogate those openly associating with bandits.

“It is clear that the federal government at the highest level knows what is going on. At least the intelligence community has an idea.” He said

He further lamented the increasing incidents of kidnapping for ransom in the northern region over the past decade, which according to him, is a grave humiliation for the nation.

The bishop called for collaboration between security agencies and those with important information to tackle the menace effectively.
