On Friday, the people of Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, in Igboetiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, gathered to bid a final farewell to actor John Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope.
The burial rites began with a commendation mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish, Ukehe, followed by lying-in-state at his father’s compound. Family, friends, colleagues, and fans had a final glimpse of the late actor before the body was moved to a private venue for internment.
Junior Pope’s colleagues and fans remembered him as a talented and dedicated actor who brought energy and passion to every role he played. His untimely death is a was described as a loss to the Nollywood film industry.
Junior Pope died on April 10, alongside four others, after their boat capsized in the Anam River, in Anambra State, while returning from a movie shoot.
