Court orders DSS to produce detained Igboho’s aides in court on July 29
Justice Obiora Egwuatu of a Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to produce the 12 detained associates of Sunday Igboho, before it on July 29.
Recall that at least a dozen of Igboho’s associates were arrested and detained by the DSS on July 1 after a raid on Igboho’s residence in the Soka area of Ibadan,Oyo State.
Egwuatu also ordered the Nigeria’s secret police to come and prove to the court why the applicants should not be granted bail.
Cholera outbreak in Abuja, death now about 60
According to the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, suspected cases of Cholera in Abuja have risen from 604 to 698 within the last 72 hours.
The FCT Administration has announced plans to increase community sensitization as the death toll from cholera outbreak in Abuja is now 60.
Aliyu, however, said that the administration would not fold its hands and watch the people of the territory die over preventable diseases.
Insecurity Ending Soon In Nigeria- Buhari
Preside Mohammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that insecurity will soon be a bygone in the country as there was no bombing or kidnapping during the just passed Eid-el-kabir celebrations

Biodun Fatoyinbo backs Oyedepo on sacking pastors
Senior Pastor, Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA Biodun Fatoyinbo has supported Bishop David Oyedepo’s decision to sack some pastors of the church.
Recall that Bishop David Oyedepo had earlier sacked about 40 pastors on the grounds that they were unfruitful and that the church had no tolerance for failure.
Fatoyinbo however reacted to this in his post on Instagram saying that there is no room for laziness and unfruitfulness in the house of God.
Nigeria receives first batch of Super Tucano to tackle Boko Haram, bandits
On Thursday 22nd July 2021,Nigeria received the first batch of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft in Kano State.
NAF Director of Public Relations and Information,Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet confirmed the arrival of the fighter aircraft in a statement.
These fighter jets alongside other weapons cost $462million and will be used to conduct air strikes against Boko Haram and Bandits.
5 Dead As Gunmen attack Nasarawa community
Gunmen has attacked Gidan Sule village in Nasarawa State, killing five persons on Wednesday.
Rahman Nansel,the state police spokesman who confirmed the incident in a statement released on Thursday, said the gunmen shot sporadically in the community.
He mentioned that the police force have already deployed agents led by Area Commander Awe, ACP Dankwano D. Wilson to find the culprits.

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has explained what the Nigerian government must do to successfully extradite Sunday Igboho to Nigeria from the Benin Republic.
Recall that Igboho was arrested with his wife in Cotonou while trying to flee to Germany.
Falana explained that Igboho’s extradition will not happen until the Nigerian government proves that Igboho arrest is not political or for the purpose of his ethnic group and provide strong evidence that he has committed a criminal offense.

Yaba LCDA Chairman Narry Escapes Death
Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Omiyale Kayode, was almost lynched by armed hoodlums as he was returning from a campaign rally at Abule Oja area with some APC party members.
He and some party members, including a member of the House of Representatives and a member of the Osun State House of Assembly, narrowly escaped death as they were pursued by the hoodlums into the council secretariat opposite the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) Panti, Yaba.
But for the quick engagement by the police with the hoodlums in a gun battle, close off the area, and kept the politicians safely inside the council secretariat all day.
Buhari has no third term ambition– APC
Contrary to allegations made by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), APC has reconfirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari, has no third term ambition or a succession plan.
This was said in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, National Secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).
In his words, he said “Our statement is simple and straight forward. President Buhari has no third term ambition, a position he has personally reiterated”.

The final burial rite for the late Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), member representing Isoko south, Mr. Kenneth Ogba,has been fixed for 24th July 2021.

Fake customs officer bags 20-year in Jail for job fraud
Justice Mahmood Abdulgafar of aKwara State High Court on Thursday, sentenced a 34-year-old man, Yakubu Afolayan, to 20 years’ imprisonment for impersonation and job fraud.
The sentence which is based on the four counts preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The convict is to spend his custodial sentence at the Mandala Correctional Centre with effect from November 14, 2021
Lagos State Govt Orders Restriction of Movement on Saturday
The Lagos State Government has announced the restriction of movement across the state between the hours of 8:00am and 3:00pm on Saturday 24th of July 2021.
The reason for this movement restrictions is because of the election of Chairmen and Councillors in grassroot positions.
This announcement was communicated in a press statement by the commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotosho on Thursday.
Igboho to Remain in Beninese Custody
The Cour De’appal De Cotonou has adjourned the hearing of the case involving Yoruba Freedom Fighters Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho till Friday July 23.
Igboho and his wife have been in custody since their arrest at an Airport in Benin Republic to board a flight to Germany.
The freedom fighter is believed to have been arraigned on immigration-related offenses.

The Federal Government has told a Federal High Court in Lagos that they didn’t stop Nigerians from using Twitter as they still use it everyday
Following the suspension on Twitter by FG on June 4, 2021,’any Nigerians have bypassed the suspension by using Virtual private Network.
FG said that Nigerians should direct their frustrations towards Twitter as they won’t have been suspended if they complied with Nigerian laws
Buhari begs historians to be fair in documenting his administration.
President Muhammadu Buhari is beckoning on the country’s historians and intellectuals to be just in documenting his administration , asking them to look back on the level of insecurity in Nigeria before his regime.
This he said on Thursday, when some governors under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) paid Sallah homage to him in his hometown in Daura, Katsina State.
The President also noted that it would be unfortunate to mislead the electorate with lies, and personal bias, laying emphasis on the need to put the larger interest of the country beyond other selfish gains.
DSS warns against public display of wealth
The Department of State Services (DSS) has warned Nigerians against the public display of wealth.
The Deputy Director, Security Enforcement of the secrete Service in Kwara Command, Paul Oduh, issue this warning while presenting a paper titled “Security tips for health practitioners in Kwara”, at a symposium organized by the state branch of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) in the state today July 23.
He said the show of wealth and exhibition of flamboyant lifestyle in public was one of the factors that usually attract the attention of criminal elements.
IGP warns Nigerians against fake portal- says Police is not Recruiting
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, on Friday notified Nigerians that the police force are not recruiting, warns them to be wary of fraudulent schemes on the internet.
The Nigeria Police Force has alarmed the public on a fake recruitment portal claiming it has started the 2021 Police Constables Recruitment process.
This was contained in a statement issued by CP Frank Mba, the police force spokesman that the force urged members of the public who wants to join the Nigeria Police Force or who had earlier participated in some stages of the suspended 2020 Recruitment exercise to be patient.
Nigerian Army honours late chief, Ibrahim Attahiru
The Nigerian Army has honoured the late chief, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers that died on May 2021 in an air crash near the Kaduna airport.
The New Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya on Thursday,a new office at the Headquarters of Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation HADIN KAI at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri after Attahiru.
Yahaya pays last respect to predecessor Attahiru and also commended him for his contribution and sacrifice towards the upliftment of the Army.
APC suspends serving commissioner in Nasarawa
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has suspended the state Commissioner for Land and Survey, Dr Salihu Alizaga, over alleged insurbordination to the party leadership.
Mr Malle Moses, the Chairman, Caretaker Committee, announced the suspension while inaugurating a 7-man committee to investigate the allegation level against the commissioner by the APC officials in the area.
He said that the suspension of Alizaga was to pave way for thorough investigation into his alleged insurbordination to party leadership in his ward.
