Police authorities in Edo State say the command has arrested some persons in connection with the kidnapping and killing of Prince Dennis Abuda.
Speaking on the development Thursday, police spokesman Chidi Nwabuzor said the hoodlums were detained by operatives of the anti-kidnapping and cyber crime unit in conjunction with vigilantes and hunters.
According to the police spokesman, the victim’s body was spotted along the Benin-Ahor-Lagos bypass, further prompting deeper investigations into the crime.
While Mr. Abuda was shot dead by his kidnappers, a earnest chase by security operatives made the abductors to set free three other abductees who happened to be the deceased’s brothers.
Mr. Nwabuzor said the investigations into the matter are still in progress as those detained have been helping the police to arrest other bandits within the state.
The late US-based Nigerian who came into the country for a visit hails from Fugar, Etsako Central local government area of Edo.
The police command bemoaned and cautioned all criminally minded people to look for a decent job or leave the state.
