COVID-19: LASG Acquires More Equipment To Sanitize Lagos

The Lagos State government has acquired more equipment to sanitize and fumigate the state in a bid to curtail the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu made the announcement through his Twitter handle on Thursday.

He said, “To ensure we keep our environment safe and curtail the contagion of #COVID19, we are deploying disinfectant equipment to fumigate the entire state”.

“These fumigation machines will be deployed to every part of the metropolis for sterilization of our public spaces & surfaces”, he added.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government has disclosed that six of the COVID-19 patients admitted at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba have recovered.

The Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Health, Dr Tunde Ajayi, via his twitter handle, @thetundeajai, said the patients would be discharged soon.

“Six of our #COVID19 patients have recovered and will be discharged soon. There is something Lagos is doing right. Lagos takes the lead,” he wrote.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), 51 cases were confirmed in the country as at March 25.

“Out of the 51 confirmed cases, two have been discharged, while one death has been recorded. Lagos has 32 confirmed cases,” the NCDC wrote on its website.
