Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has said that there are new discoveries about the Coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
Prof. Abayomi revealed the new discoveries on Wednesday during a TV interview.
He revealed that the new Coronavirus is not a straight forward respiratory problem, and that it has been found to impact the blood and the kidneys.
Speaking further on how Lagos is responding to the pandemic, he said rest is crucial and presently a very potent treatment for COVID-19.
“The common denominators are diabetes, hypertension and underlying immunological problems. Obesity is also a possible risk factor.
“We watch such people closely. If you fall into any of these categories, you have to be very careful,” Prof. Abayomi said in the interview.
