China has shared some of its development Strategies with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, to accelerate Nigeria’s development.
Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, on Monday assured the President Bola Tinubu-led Government of China’s support in the country’s development.
According to a statement by the Director of Information, OSGF, Willie Bassey, During a meeting with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, Jianchun presented three documents containing developmental strategies that Nigeria could adopt.
The statement reads partly “The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, while presenting three documents to the SGF, assured Nigeria of the commitment of the government of the People’s Republic of China to support the administration of Bola Tinubu with the workable development strategies that would turn around the nation’s fortune”
Jianchun emphasized that these strategies cover various areas, including infrastructure, ICT, industrialization investment, security, technology, and agriculture. He expressed readiness and commitment to deepen the bilateral relations between China and Nigeria. The Chinese Ambassador sees these strategies as a blueprint for the nation’s development.
In response, Akume thanked China for its significant investments in Nigeria’s infrastructure, particularly in rail and road transportation. He mentioned the positive impact of these investments and called for further investment to help the current administration achieve its agenda.
While expressing appreciation for the Chinese government’s scholarship programs, enabling young Nigerians to study in China, Akume appealed for more scholarships to allow more Nigerians to have the opportunity to study in China. He said “And we expect more investments and I believe that is why you are here with your businessmen as well. Any assistance you are giving us, we will step up because of the desire of the present government to do a lot. We will be expecting support from you from time to time”
