FG PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR LOCAL PRODUCTION OF VACCINES
The Minister for State Health, Dr Olorunimbe Mamora, has assured the support of the Federal Government to local production of vaccines to reduce dependence on international partners or importation.
This statement was issued at the inauguration of the National Executive Committee and Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) in Abuja on Friday.
He gave the assurance that the ministry was determined to continue to partner with the pharmaceutical society and relevant stakeholders to further improve the health of Nigerians.
However, The President, of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Prof. Cyril Osifoh, pleaded and call for a united and peaceful society of pharmacists to take the organisation to greater heights.
SUPPORT GROUPS ASK ATIKU TO GIVE UP PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION
A coalition of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar support groups, has asked the Turaki Adamswa (Atiku Abubakar) to shelve his presidential ambition; insisting it was time for Nigerians to align and allow the South produce the next president in 2023.
The groups has already made its position known at a press conference on Thursday in Abuja, with the theme: “Coalition of Concerned Groups on Power Shift to the South and the Need for Younger Candidates to Emerge Come 2023: A National and Patriotic Call.”
Stating their reasons on why he should back off in the presidential race.
As a professed lover of the east of Nigeria, having even gone as far as taking a wife from that region, the group urges Alhaji Atiku to substitute his personal ambition with overt support for a candidate of eastern extraction.
DON’T GIVE PDP GUBER TICKETS TO THIEVES HERE IN DELTA – GBAGI
The PDP governorship aspirants and industrialist, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, has said the Peoples Democratic Party, should not give its 2023 gubernatorial ticket to aspirants, who stole resources of the state and undergoing interrogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Gbagi, who stated this during his consultation visit to PDP local government and ward delegates at Uvwie local government area in the state, Delta, said it would be calamitous for the party to commit such blunder.
The aspirant warned that the rival APC would feast on the PDP if it did not properly scrutinize the charts of the contenders, urging delegates to select honest and capable gubernatorial standard-bearers.

I REMAIN THE ASPIRANT TO BEAT – OYETOLA
Ahead of February 19 gubernatorial primary, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun on Thursday said he remained the aspirant to beat in the contest.
He reveal shortly after he appeared before the Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress, at the party’s National Secretariat, Abuja, as part of steps leading to the organize of the State governorship primary election.
Oyetola, who was accompanied to the party Secretariat by party leaders, supporters and loyalists, including cabinet members, said his performance in the last three years, put him ahead of other aspirants. He added that he engaged in a strategic consultation amidst the party members to seek their support ahead of the primary election.
It would be recalled that the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, had last Monday encourage the people of the town to vote for incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. Stating that with the grace of God and support of the people of Osun, Oyetola would be re-elected to consolidate on his achievements.
PDP REASSERTS THE SUSPENSION OF SENATOR HAYATU GWARZO
The Kano State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has reaffirmed the suspension of Senator Bello Hayatu-Gwarzo, over alleged anti-party activities.
The Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Shehu Wada-Sagagi, made the announcement in a release he issued in Kano. The suspension is because of Hayatu-Gwarzo’s romance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party as alleged by his ward during the 2019 general elections.
He said also that the party had stopped Hayatu-Gwarzo from participating in the upcoming zonal election.
In his final statement, he said, the state executive committee reaffirms the suspension of the senator, as such, he does not have the right to contest any position in the party and also prayed that his name be withdrawn from the list of contestants,just as the court orders.
APC TO APPROVE AMENDED CONSTITUTION AT NATIONAL CONVENTION
The Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC of the All Progressives Congress APC has served a notice of proposed amendments to the Party’s Constitution on delegates to the February 26 National Convention.
Included key amendments are the decision to replace the Board of Trustees BoT with the National Advisory Council as well as the creation of zonal congresses.
National Secretary of the CECPC, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe noted that the 2014 APC Constitution has been in effect for almost eight years and together with judgments from Courts of competent jurisdiction, administrative experiences have revealed flaws in the Constitution.
He added that the Mamman committee adopted an all-inclusive approach which led to the draft proposals. Combined is the amendment proposals which addresses the following: Clarify ambiguities in the Constitution; Fill gaps that became apparent some other functions.
2023 ELECTION: TINUBU APPOINTS 31 YEARS OLD AS MEDIA COORDINATOR
Towards the 2023 presidential race, the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and APC presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu appoints a 31-year-old Borno youth, Comrade Muhammad Mahmud as his National Media Coordinator.

EKITI GUBER: AKERELE ASSURES PDP MEMBERS OF FREE AND FAIR TREATMENT, CALLS FOR UNITY
The Director-General of the Bisi Kolawole Campaign Organization (BKCO), Otunba Yinka Akerele has summon all members of the People’s Democractic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state to work concurrently for the victory of the party in the June 18 gubernatorial election. Akerele guarantees that no member of the party will be extricated on the account of affiliation to other aspirants before the primary election that results Hon. Bisi Kolawole as the party’s candidate.
A statement by the BKCO Spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, says Akerele spoke in Ado Ekiti, while addressing PDP Ward Managers.
The Director-General says those chosen as Ward Managers should see themselves as foot-soldiers of the party. He said he doesn’t know what the leader, His Excellency Ayo Fayose saw in Bisis Kolawole but he is convinced that it is the will of God for Bisi Kolawole to be made the him the party’s candidate.
Otunba Yinka, while addressing also attest that He’s ready to put much to work, the moment Bisi Kolawole emerges as the governor of the state for the benefits of the state and also prayed for the longevity of life after Bisi Kolawole’s victory as the governor.
SOUTHERN YOUTH APPLAUDS AREWA GROUPS FOR SUPPORTING UDOM
Southern Youths For Sustainable Development (SYFSD) has lauded Arewa Movement For Actionable Change (AMFAC), for backing Gov. Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom, as a candidate for the 2023 Presidential election.
Mr Edward Emosa, the spokesperson for the group in a release on Friday in Abuja, said that the move was the best decision made by the group for Udom.
Emosa added that with such endorsement from Arewa group, there was no doubt that the unity of the country would resurface.
However, he called on other Nigerians from different geo-political zones to summon the governor to contest to replicate what he did to Akwa Ibom in the whole nation.
