The Nigerian military seems to be aggressively pursuing the laundering of its image already battered by its unfortunate encounter in Lekki, Lagos recently with young, agile and peaceful protesters that took to the streets to demand for the end to SARS brutality, general reforms in the Nigeria Police and entrenchment of good governance.

At Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, citizens of all shades thronged the Kwara Agro Mall in their hundreds to cart away food items and other valuables.

The apparently unarmed soldiers kept shouting “let there be peace, don’t destroy anything o, we are begging you o, just go in there peacefully and take anything you want but don’t damage anything”.

The dawn of an unexpected and strange era, one could really assume!
