The Jigawa state government has announced that it will close all its COVID-19 isolation centers in the state on Monday.
The development followed the discharge of more patients in the state.
Chairman of the state COVID-19 task force who is also the state’s Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abba Zakari made this known.
Zakari said the state currently has just eight patients in all its isolation centres.
“Five of the patients are in Fanisau’s isolation centre, two in Infectious disease centre and one in Rasheed Shekoni isolation center”
“Due to the decreasing number of COVID-19 patients in the state, the state would combine all the patients in its infectious disease center,” he stated.
“Fanisau and Rasheed Shekoni’s isolation centers would temporarily be closed on Monday.”
The chairman sais that out of the 317 COVID-19 cases recorded in the state since April, 257 patients have recovered and discharged from the isolation centers while the state recorded nine deaths.
