A video which has gone viral on the internet captures an officer if Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) distributing Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC) to only those that are ready to give her N1,000 as tip to Compensate for her efforts.
While some people parted with the tip and immediately collected their cards, some were very reluctant. They insisting that the woman collects salary from the government and therefore need not be bribed to render services to the general public.
After a protracted argument, the INEC officer carried her bag and left the scene of the incident.
With this kind of attitude on the part of government officials, one cannot but wonder why things have degenerated to this level in Nigeria and particularly during the administration that came onboard with determination to fight corruption.
