There is a common saying that necessity is the mother of invention. The incessant fuel scarcity which now makes transport business unprofitable and unattractive in Nigeria has compelled a young man in Maiduguri, Borno State to think of a possible solution.
In his quest for a way out of the ugly situation, the young man named Gajibo has succeeded in converting petrol powered vehicles to the ones that now use electricity.
According to one of the commercial vehicle operators using a bus converted by Gajibo, it usually covers 120 kilometers when charged for 35 minutes.
Gajibo himself confirmed that the assistance he got from the government has enabled him to build his own electric vehicle from the scratch.
