THREE STOREY-BUILDING COLLAPSES IN APAPA

Just few days after a seven-storey building under construction caved-in on Banana Island area of Lagos killing one person, another building has again collapsed at No. 43B, Ladipo Oluwole Street, Apapa – Lagos.

According to the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, the collapse of the frontal area of the second floor of the three-storey building occurred in the early hour of Sunday, 23rd April, 2023.

He said the property had been served the CN, STW and Seal Up Notices accordingly.

Oke-Osanyintolu further stated that the building was under construction when it caved in, adding that it had Provisional Development Permit of a Two (2) floor structure.

He said, “No Authorization and building was not staged by LASBCA. Construction is at third floor roof level with block work completed {additional floor as against the Two floors Approved}.

“There was no casualty recorded on site as the time of filing this report.”
