Shortly after his official endorsement for second term, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hit the ground running by approving a 20 per cent salary increment for mainstream civil servants, local governments staff and state universal basic education board officers in Lagos State.
This is contained in a circular released on Monday 20 March 2023. The circular which was signed by Hakeem Muri-Okunla, the State Head of Service, states that the 20% increment in salary took effect from 1 January, 2023.
It also clarifies that the arrears for January will be paid along with salary for the month of March while arrears for February will be paid along with April salary.
