Where is the Ease of Doing Business?

The recent astronomic increase in the price of commodities came as a rude shock to Nigerians.

Bread which used to be the hope of the common man sudden became something else as the size earlier sold for four hundred and fifty naira (N450) now goes for one thousand naira (N1,000).

Many people were quick to heap the blame of this irrational inflation on the war currently going on between Ukraine and Russia because that is where the bulk of wheat flour is being imported into Nigeria.

While the war could be a justifiable reason for the skyrocketing of bread price, the recent investigations carried out by our corespondents have revealed that there are more other reasons. For instance, how can we explain a situation where a vehicle that transports produce be made to obtain 72 different papers before being allowed to operate?

Where is the ease of doing business when this type of method is adopted to shore up Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) as shown in the attached video? We hope the appropriate tiers of government will look into this issue as a matter of urgency.
