The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva has resigned from office.
Our source disclosed that the minister submitted his letter of resignation to President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.
Sylva has declared his intent to participate in the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in April, in preparation for the Bayelsa governorship election.
It would be recalled that the minister had governed Bayelsa State for one term and still has constitutional rights to contest for another tenure.
When contacted, Horatius Egua, the minister’s senior adviser for media and communications, said he could not deny or confirm the resignation because he had not seen the letter and has not been officially informed of the development by the minister.
