Former Governor of Anambra state and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the last general election, Mr Peter Obi has said that there are many thieves in Nigeria.

He vowed that he will not allow himself to be forced to flee Nigeria. But his party will rather continue to fight to create a new Nigeria.

Obi told his traducers that he would not give up until the thieves “are shown the way out of political offices in the country.”

“There is too much suffering in this country, that is what we, in Labour Party, are fighting to end. There are many thieves in the country. So, Labour Party is fighting to create a new Nigeria. I am here with you, and nobody is going to force me to leave Nigeria.”

The former Anambra state governor spoke at the Onitsha Holiday Resort, Onitsha, yesterday 13 April 2023, where he appealed to the voters in Ogbaru Federal Constituency to vote for the candidate of the Labour party, Afam Ogene in respect of Saturday’s supplementary election.

Obi decried that Nigerian citizens “are presently passing through hardship, there is too much suffering in the country.”

He stated that his party was committed to creating a new Nigeria, adding that “there are too many thieves who are inflicting suffering on the masses.”
