VIDEO: IPOB ORDERS ANOTHER SIT-AT-HOME IN SOUTH EAST DURING GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

During the preparation for the Federal Election which took place on February 25, 2023, Simon Ekpa, the spokesperson for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) made a broadcast that there would be no election in the South East.

Few days to the election, the Finnish Embassy wrote a letter to Ekpa, instructing him to use the same medium to counter the earlier broadcast within 48 hours, otherwise, he would be arrested. We reliably gathered that Ekpa was subsequently arrested in Finland for interrogation.

The presidential and national assembly elections have come and gone. One cannot but wonder why the same IPOB spokesperson made another Sit-at-Home broadcast now that preparation is at the top gear for the governorship and state assembly elections.

With this development, IPOB’s position appears to be very confusing. If the separatist group is trying to prevent election from taking place in the South East, Ekpa should have told the people from that geopolitical zone to abstain completely from voting even outside the zone.
