There was widespread report by the media that the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has given a directive that any customer with less than N500,000 can now take it back to their respective commercial bank for onward transfer to the CBN.
From all indication, it is obvious that the CBN management are overwhelmed with the current currency swap problem. The CBN Deputy Director, Currency addressed the crowd.
Eventually, the CBN turned round again to blame the media, castigating them as purveyors of fake reports.
