Report reaching us has stated that a bomb blast had gone off in Okene, Kogi State at about 10pm.
According to the report, the office of Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] was seriously hit by the bomb. Documents and other sensitive contents of the offices are said to have also been destroyed.
Some are of the opinion that the bomb blast might not be unconnected with an unfolding tussle between the President of the federal government of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari and some of the current APC Governors, which include the Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
The tussle concerns the implementation of the monetary policy over the newly redesigned naira notes.
There is no information about the casualties involved as at the time of filing this report.
